Threat protection

Less storage is  required because only threats or other selected calls are actually stored.  Unlike the default mode of our other call recorders, the Call Recorder IP  Flash records all calls, but only keeps calls when a designated key is  pressed during or after the call.

The rationale is that you do not need to keep all  calls; only those calls (or call) that is the active threat needing to be  kept for later playback.. For this, not much memory is required, but all  of the other functions need to be present.

Automatic Functions - Searchable Database
The Soft Call Recorder will record  every telephone conversation automatically.  No action is required to record a  call, so you cannot forget to record a telephone conversation.  However, conversations can be deleted  after being made. The software that comes with the Soft Call Recorder  automatically creates a Jet (Access) compatible database storing all vital  information about each conversation.  The database can be searched by  name, time and date, or length of conversation.

Specialized Software

 
The software shipped with  the SCR is Windows 95/ 98/ NT/ 2000 / XP compatible. A unique feature is  the combination of very high recording quality with equally high  compression. Every gigabyte on a PC hard disk can store 240 hours of  recorded conversations; about twelve times as much as any rival product.  Given the high capacity drives available on computers today, the drive  space used to store recordings is relatively small.

Multiple Archive folders can be  created on any local or shared network drive to aid in organizing  recordings.  Additionally, the SCR software supports creating folders  automatically that have the selected calls for archiving split up into CD  size images with an adjusted database to match each folder's recordings.  This allows each folder to be copied to a CD-RW with a database on each CD  that matches the calls copied to each CD.

Overview
The Soft Call  Recorder (SCR) is an alternative and less expensive method of  recording phone conversations. The SCR uses your computer's hard disk  instead of offering standalone storage media. Recording  quality is the same high standard used in our Call Recorders, and  offers this quality while using only 1 gigabyte of disk storage to store  240 hours of conversation.
Models of the SCR are  available that connect to any type of Windows computer, from notebooks  to servers, from "thin" PC's  to workstations, including standalone  desktop PC's.

The Soft Call Recorder has been especially  developed as a less expensive alternative to the standard Call Recorder.  Thanks to our long experience with stand-alone Call Recorders, we are  able to offer exactly those features necessary to make this application  a success.


 

 

Product Profile -  Soft Call Recorders

 

 

 


Soft Call Recorders(SCR) use your PC's hard  drive to store recordings. They are available in three  models. 

  • The SCR Classic only needs the Mic or  Line-In input port on your sound card.

  • The SCR USB only requires a standard  USB port.

 

 

 

Other Call  Recorders
Different types of Call Recorders, which use an internal hard disk and  function without a PC, are also available.  These Call Recorders can exchange  recordings with the PC, if so desired. Please let us know if you would like  any further information about the full line of stand-alone Call  Recorders.  
Advantages of the standard Call Recorder IP models are that the Caller  ID and outgoing phone number are stored in the call database; the  conversations can be recorded in a variety of formats compatible with PC's;  computers do not need to be turned on for call recording to work; only IP  model equipment can be used in the Call Monitoring application; the CR-IP can  be used as an answering machine or call recorder; the IP units can be accessed  over the internet; a variety of input and output connections can be used with  the CR-IP, in addition to the connections made with the Soft Call Recorder;  and the list continues.
In short, if  your application calls only for call recording, and you do not need any of the  additional features mentioned above, then the Soft Call Recorder will most  likely serve your needs well. If however, you need any of the features  mentioned above, or think you will in the future, then we recommend purchasing  the Call Recorder IP models.

Restrictions

Protection of  Privacy

The Soft Call Recorder  should not be used to record telephone conversations unless at least one  of the speakers is aware that the conversation is being recorded. Some  U.S. States are 2-party states, requiring both parties to be informed that  the call is being recorded. However the vast majority of U.S. States are  1-party states. Laws vary widely in other countries. 

The  user should verify laws concerning privacy matters, and is responsible for  the lawful use of the Call Recorder. In case of doubt please contact the  appropriate authorities.  
 

Notice of  Compatibility

Vidicode does not  authorize any 3rd party software for use with the Soft Call Recorder.
